Among Ed Sheeran's long list of superlatives which include talented and down-to-earth, Ed is also a cat lover! ET caught up with UK singer at the Sirius/XM Sidewalk Session in New York to talk about his new album and his penchant for cats.

Hard core fans of Sheeran know that he is the proud owner of his own cat Graham, but he reveals he also takes in strays.

"I tend to take in like half eaten, mangy cats of the streets," he explains. "I just don't go for the cute ones. They end looking quite cute once you cleaned them up a little bit."

When he's not taking in cats from all walks of life, Ed is busy promoting his upcoming album X,-- also known as Multiply-- out next week which has him performing multiple shows a day in various parts of the world.

"My original idea for the concept of Multiple was to multiple the song ideas, the production and the fan base. And some whiz kid at the record label was like 'Hey! We could get him to do loads of gigs in a day,'" he quips.

In addition to the performances, this week Ed is releasing a song from the new album on iTunes every day at midnight leading up to next Monday's release.

Watch the video to find out why he went for the anti-Beyonce approach and whether he can spot the famous felines in the ultimate cat quiz!
