Mariah Carey: 'I'm Eternally 12 Years Old'

Though much has been said about Mariah Carey, 44, dressing a little too young for her age, turns out her internal age is actually even a lot younger than a sexy 20-something.

In a new interview with Out magazine, the pop diva admits she's "eternally 12 years old."

"Darling, I'm eternally 12 years old. I'm going to give her to you. Ready?" she admits, before sliding "into a 12-year-old girl voice" complete with "fluttering eyelids and adolescent bashfulness."

Though despite the "ditzy" image she's often given, Mariah insists she was actually an avid reader growing up.

"It doesn't go with the ditzy image, I guess. I have too many highlights!" she jokes.

But does her reputation bother her?

"No," she candidly tells the magazine. "I flirt with it, and I play with it. If it pisses people off, whatever."

But as for worrying about staying relevant in pop music after being a pop star for 25 years, Mariah isn't too concerned.

"I don't count years, but I definitely rebuke them -- I have anniversaries, not birthdays, because I celebrate life, darling," she says, before proving she's well aware of her zany image -- "Please put an LOL next to this, because people are going to be, like, 'WTF?'"
