Shakira To Shake Hips At World Cup Closing

Another knockout is coming to the World Cup… this time in the form of a sexy blonde singer who can shake her hips better than anyone in the business.

Pop star Shakira, 37, will perform before the World Cup final in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Sunday, July 13, headlining a closing ceremony that includes guitar virtuoso Carlos Santana, rapper Wyclef Jean and EDM superstar Avicii.

Shakira, who is making her third straight World Cup appearance, will sing La La La (Brazil 2014) with Brazilian star Carlinhos Brown, FIFA said in a statement on Wednesday.

Santana, Wyclef, Avicii and Brazilian singer Alexandre Pires will perform the tournament's official anthem, Dar Um Jeito at the legendary Maracana Stadium.

"I have an intricate relationship with football for obvious reasons, and I truly understand what the World Cup means to so many people, myself included." said Shakira, who has a son with 27-year-old Spain defender Gerard Pique, said in a statement.

In the meantime, eight teams are left battling for two spots in the final game. Defending champs Spain were already eliminated.

Shakira's native Colombia will play Brazil in the quarter-final on Friday following the France-Germany game. On Saturday, Argentina plays Belgium followed by Netherlands versus Costa Rica.
