John Dann has set the bar much higher for men looking to ask their significant others to marry them. The Rochester, New York was pulled up on stage by Paul McCartney so he could propose to the woman he loves.
On Saturday night, at a concert in Albany, the 72-year-old music icon got Dann and his now-fiancee Claudia Rodgers on stage during his encore performance and let Dann pop the question in front of 13,000 cheering fans.
Dann, 64, proposed by singing a verse of the classic song When I'm Sixty-Four by The Beatles. Half-way through, McCartney and his band struck up their instruments and accompanied him while finishing the verse.
Then, he dipped to one knee and asked the question, and she said yes to the uproarious cheering of the audience.
The couple had long been fans of McCartney, and at a concert in 2011 noticed that he occasionally brought people with funny signs on stage. So, they had their plan. She held a bright green neon sign that read, "He won't marry me 'til he meets you." Dann held a sign right next to it that read, "I have the ring and I'm 64."
McCartney noticed, laughed and then called them on stage at the end of the show. The rest goes down in proposal history.
