EXCLUSIVE! On Set With Danny Trejo, Hannah Simone and Train: The 'Angel in Blue Jeans' Shoot

Danny Trejo is Hannah Simone’s knight in shining armor in the new video for Train's "Angel in Blue Jeans."

Only ET was on set with the stars as they braved the SoCal desert heat this summer, with the New Girl star playing the song's titular angel, Trejo as her love interest and Train singer Pat Monahan as a nefarious, Tarantino-esque bad guy.

"This song to me and the video, they sound and look like a Quentin Tarantino vibe," Monahan told ET. "I'm a bad guy. I think my face is really good at being a bad guy and it's great 'cause Danny, who usually is a bad guy, ends up being the hero, which is super cool."

For Simone, the opportunity to play a certifiable badass was too good to pass up. "It's my first music video, something I've always wanted to do," she told ET. "The fact that we get to do it with this cool concept where [I] get to be this tough girl who brings knives to the gun fight and still wins -- I don’t know, it’s just awesome."

Also awesome: seeing Machete star Trejo rolling up on his motorcycle and lip syncing the song. How long did it take him to learn all the lyrics? At least 50 plays, he says.

"I drove everybody crazy with it, but thank God everybody likes the song. Now everybody’s singing it," Trejo joked. "This song is gonna be a hit, I'm telling you. Everybody's heard it. Low riders are all bumping it pretty loud!"

"Angel in Blue Jeans" is directed by Brendan Walter and Mel Soria. Check out the full video below and go behind the scenes with ET in the clip at the top of this post.

The song is featured on the band's forthcoming album, Bulletproof Picasso, out September 16. It's available for pre-order now.
