Hilary Duff is officially back in the music biz.

The Disney star-turned-singer announced on Wednesday that she’s signed with RCA Records and will release a brand new album this fall. The record's lead single, "Chasing the Sun," is set to premiere on July 29 with the music video hitting VEVO the same day.

"I couldn't be more excited to join the RCA family! I love my team there and feel so lucky to be in the company of their talented artists. I came to them with my vision for the album and it has been a real labor of love, but something I am so proud of," Duff said in a press release. "'Chasing The Sun' is just a peek into my new album. I've worked very hard and the album is a great representation of the experiences I've had in my life and where I want to go from here!"

Duff's RCA debut will be her fifth studio album and first release since 2007's Dignity. A lot has changed for Duff since then: she married NHL player Mike Comrie in 2010 and welcomed a baby boy in 2012. The couple announced earlier this year that they had separated.

"I took a break from music for quite awhile, but it gave me the power to choose my next steps carefully and I'm really proud of the album I've made," Duff said. "'Chasing The Sun' is a light and fun summer song that I hope helps people to feel a little more carefree."

The 26-year-old made waves earlier this year when she posted a photo with Ed Sheeran on Instagram. Shortly thereafter, the "Sing" superstar began telling the press that he had written for Duff’s album. "I feel like her record is not what they will expect," he said in an interview with Digital Spy. "Obviously she comes from Lizzie McGuire and that pop world, but she's more grown up now, so it's more of an adult alternative acoustic sound."

Sheeran isn't the only superstar Duff is teaming up with this time around. "Chasing the Sun" was written by Colbie Caillat, Jason Reeves and Toby Gad.
