He's still kicking butt on screen - can you believe the 50-year-old is a grandfather in real life?

Nicolas Cage's family is growing!

The actor's 23-year-old son Wes Cage is a new father to baby boy Lucian Augustus Coppola Cage, while he’s also hard at work finishing his debut solo album Prehistoric Technology. Born on July 1, 2014, baby Lucian is the 50-year-old star's first grandchild.

"I believe that a lot of the morals and philosophies that I will teach to my son definitely comes from my father," Wes tells ETonline. "He was an amazing father to me." And how is he as a grandpa? "Brilliant," says Wes.

As Wes gears up to promote his metal album (the debut single "Tell Me Why (Matriarch of Misery)" is available now), he plans to bring his son and wife Danielle along on the road. It’s not a far cry from the way that Wes was raised, traveling around the globe with his dad from a young age, though he plans to do some things differently for his son.

"I'll definitely make sure that [Lucian] doesn't have to deal with too many schools back and forth," Wes says. "I'll want to get someone that's trustworthy to tutor and provide everything that a school could."

Cage plans to release Prehistoric Technology early next year with tour plans to follow. For Cage, music is a family affair. "Tell Me Why" features lyrics written by his wife, as does another track featured on the album. As for their little one, he's happily observing for now.
