"When you record a Christmas album, it's around for the rest of your life. It's something that people can play for years and years to come," Mariah told ET in '94. "You always hope people will like them, they'll become classics. You know, that's a dream."

Dream come true is more like it! Merry Christmas remains the bestselling Christmas album of all time, while her hit single "All I Want for Christmas Is You" is still her biggest international hit.

The music video features Mariah prancing around in the snow in the style of a home video.

"We did it last year at Christmas time with all the real snow -- and I had my dogs, I had antlers on them, I had real reindeer," said Mariah. "I've been celebrating Christmas all year."

As for that iconic album cover? That was real snow too! Mariah joked, "I really froze my little self to death... for my fans!"
