This is a new side of Meghan Trainor!

The GRAMMY winner
is ramping up the sex appeal in her new music video for "NO," joking on Instagram that she was going for the "opposite" aesthetic of her 2014 breakout hit, "All About That Bass."

"Lmao I love this," she captioned a side-by-side split of the two videos. "I told them I wanted opposite colors of bass."

Watch the full video below -- it's totally giving us the best kind of early 2000s vibes (specifically, Britney Spears' "I'm a Slave 4 U," circa 2001). No?

"I was in the clubs and I was hearing a lot of the same songs repeating themselves and I was just like, 'Ugh! DJ, spin another track. Get something else in here,'" she told ET earlier this month. "The club wasn't the place where my songs had played a lot -- the doo wops -- it's more like a mom's car," she added with a laugh. "I was like, 'I want something that reaches mothers, but also clubs. I want it to play everywhere.'"

The 22-year-old scored her first GRAMMY for Best New Artist earlier this year and is already gearing up to release her sophomore effort, Thank You, on May 13.

"NO" marks the first taste fans are getting from Thank You. The song was inspired, at least partially, by Trainor's label boss, L.A. Reid.

"I had my album done a couple times and I brought it in to him and he was like, 'You don't have a single,' and I was like, 'Yes, I do. I have nine. This is a great album! It's amazing,'" she recalled. "He said, 'This is great, but do not stop. You are a crazy songwriter, like no one I've ever worked with, and I know what you're capable of and you need to keep trying.'

"I was like, 'No! I don't want to!'" she continued. "I told him, 'I'm not gonna do 'All About That Bass' times two. I'm not gonna do a song that sounds just like it.' He's like, 'I'm not asking for that. I want something that's inside of you that is sassy and powerful.' I was like, 'Alright, I'll go do it right now.'"

Later that day, "NO" was born.

While Trainor has become a body image role model for her fans, the singer admitted that even working on her latest video had her battling insecurities once again.

"Recently, we were doing a fitting for this music video, and I was like, 'All these dancers next to me, they're so tiny,' and I felt insecure again," she revealed. "My best friend was like, 'You are all about that bass. Do not forget that.' I was like, 'You're right! I am hot, and I look bomb in these outfits, and I'm going to kill it in this video.'"

And kill it, she did! See what else Trainor had to say during our sit-down in the video below.
