"Project Runway" mentor Tim Gunn has penned a new book to help people "Make It Work."
Gunn's Golden Rules: Life's Little Lessons for Making It Work, on store shelves now, tackles such topics as correcting bad manners, handling positions of power and it even discusses some of his experiences working with celebrities.
One celebrity he writes about is Martha Stewart, although he says he has nothing but respect for her. "Martha is a perfectionist. She has the highest standard of quality of anyone that I know. I have the hugest amount of respect for her, and actually, I also happen to have a real personal affection for her…," Tim says. "The stories that I tell that involve Martha are stories that have something of a moral to them, and that's why they're in the book."
As for how he gathered content for his book, Tim says, "I was looking for examples of things that I've been part of or have witnessed where there is a particular lesson to be told."
Gunn says his famous catchphrase "Make It Work" came out of his experience teaching and advising his former students not to give up when things go wrong.
