ET was there as Matthew McConaughey and his girlfriend Camila Alves hit the football field for an afternoon of fun that was all for a good cause -- and the couple dished about raising their two adorable children.
Matthew joined forces with the NFL's San Francisco 49ers to co-host "Just Keep Livin' the PLAY 60 Way" in East Palo Alto, Calif. The star teamed up with 49ers tight end and NFL PLAY 60 spokesperson Vernon Davis to lead a group of kids and teens -- students of the 49ers Academy -- through guided group workouts, nutritional discussions, and football and fitness drills.
"We have a family now, got two kids," Matthew says of his and Camila's children Levi, 2, and Vida, about 9 months. "One of the things that we've learned is that we've reminded [ourselves and] our kids to be thankful for all the things that we have, because a lot of these kids don't have the opportunity. One: a solid mother-father relationship in the house. Two: Our kids don't have to worry about eating or college tuition."
"Things like that that we have, we're very thankful for, and we give those kids what they don't have, a little bit of a place that they can get a little taste enough and like it enough where they want to continue their lives to go into a positive route," says Camila.
Matthew's j.k. livin' foundation brought 10 young people from the L.A. area to participate as co-leaders during the active afternoon, which was spearheaded jointly by the j.k. livin' foundation, the 49ers RESPECT campaign and the NFL PLAY 60 campaign. The goal of the event was to educate the participating kids and teens about the importance of healthy and active lifestyles.
Meanwhile, Matthew says his and Camila's little boy and girl are growing up fast! "[Vida] is walking, so we're busy -- not much time for us to daydream, because if you look up at the sky for about 10 seconds they're a half-mile down the road," he laughs.
