Hulk Hogan's son Nick tears up as he gives his first interview since being released from jail following a car accident that left his best friend, John Graziano, paralyzed.
"It's hard to move on every day and be positive when there's something that's so horribly devastating," he says in an all-new "Nightline" interview, airing tonight on ABC. "It's just something that I pray to God every day for the strength to deal with cause it's hard. There are days where I can't even get out of bed."
Police say Nick had been drinking and speeding at the time of the accident and after accepting a plea deal, he served 5 months in a Florida jail.
Nick says the accident is something that still weighs heavily on him.
"John's my brother, we practically lived together and I just remember finding out about how bad everything was," he says. "It's still hard for me to think about it. I pray every day that I will be able to deal with it. It's still at this point it's too much to think about. It's something that I carry with me every day."
But Nick says he still has not been able to see his friend.
"I've reached out and tried but at this point I'm not allowed to visit John," he says.
Nick was placed in solitary confinement, which is where he says he learned a lot about himself.
"I really learned a lot about detaching myself from my ego," he says. "I realized that sitting in solitary confinement in a shirt that wasn’t mine, no clothes, nothing that was in there was mine except my hands, and my hair and myself ... and I realized that I was still the same person without the house that I lived in or the car that I drove or the clothes that I wore. I realized that I’m still the same person."
