After news broke that Disney Channel star Demi Lovato had checked into a treatment facility to deal with "emotional and physical" issues, her parents are speaking out.

Eddie and Dianna De La Garza tell People magazine, "Our entire family appreciates the outpouring of support we have received from Demi's fans. We are touched by their kindness."

The 18-year-old star abruptly left her tour with the Jonas Brothers earlier this week to seek help for her troubles.
