As 2010 comes to a close, ET looks back at what personal goals were set by celebs and if they were kept.
Lindsay Lohan had quite a year between jail, rehab and most recently an assault accusation against her. Lindsay tweeted her New Year's resolution at the start of 2010, writing: "To answer everybody's question ... My new years resolution is to stop letting the lucky few that have my heart, try 2 constantly tear me down." She continued with another post that read: "2010 is about moving forward, not backwards. Leaving the bad (people, habits, and negative energy behind) time to make changes-right!?!? :)" Currently, Lindsay is being investigated by police after she allegedly got into a fight with a staff member at the Betty Ford Center, where she's currently residing.
Did Christina Aguilera follow through with her goals for 2010? The singer-turned-actress certainly changed things up in her life, making her acting debut in 'Burlesque' and filing for divorce from her husband of nearly five years, Jordan Bratman. She disclosed her New Year's resolution at a party at TAO Las Vegas on New Year's Eve, saying she wanted "to continue having the best life ever." She added, "I paved the way for the work this year ."
Meanwhile, Rihanna was looking to take up another talent this year, and she did just that! The pop star said at the beginning of 2010 that she wanted to learn the drums, and former Blink 182 percussionist Travis Barker helped make that goal come to fruition. In March, Barker tweeted: "Teaching Rihanna some things on drums." Rihanna is even seen on drums in the music video for her song "Rude Boy."
Kim Kardashian also seemed to keep her New Year's resolution. She said at the beginning of 2010 that she wanted "just to spend a little bit more time with my family and my friends and to really kick it up in the workout department and to try to eat better. I cannot get it together with eating. I eat way too many Oreos." No word on whether she's been able to control her Oreo cravings, but she did manage to spend a lot of time with her sisters. The girls came out with a new book this year among a slew of other endorsements that they promoted together. Kim also filmed a new season of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" with her family in addition to her new show with her sister Kourtney in New York City.
Justin Timberlake may not have gone through with his New Year's resolution. He spoke of his goals for 2010, saying, "I'm going to under promise myself for 2010 so if it goes well I'll be like, 'Oh my God! Such a surprise!'" He was in for quite a surprise! Justin starred in 'The Social Network' that is already receiving a ton of acclaim this award season and is predicted to sweep the Oscars in nominations. He also loaned his voice to the film 'Yogi Bear' where he plays the iconic cartoon character Boo Boo.
Kanye West released a hit album that was well-received by critics this year, but he may not have kept his personal resolution for 2010. In January, the controversial rapper said, "My resolution is to be as nice as possible to the press." In November, Kanye launched into a tirade on the "TODAY" show when he was being interviewed by Matt Lauer. While searching for the right words to express his motivation behind making some of his most notable controversial comments, Kanye became distracted by something off-camera, saying, "Can we be quiet for a second?" Kanye was also unhappy with the show playing footage of the music producer interrupting Taylor Swift's acceptance speech in 2009, demanding that the footage be stopped. "Please don't let that happen, it's like ridiculous," Kanye told Matt.
The Cyrus family made headlines several times in 2010, with Miley starring in the film 'The Last Song' with her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus filing for divorce, and some shocking photos surfacing of what looks to be Miley taking hits from a bong. Earlier this year, Miley said of her 2010 resolution, "I need to stop talking about things I want to do, and just get out there and do it. That's been my biggest goal recently, especially while I'm on the road."
When asked by Us magazine what her New Year's resolution for 2010 would be, "Cougar Town" star Courteney Cox said, "I don't have any yet! I'll make some soon." Since then, she has separated from her husband after 11 years of marriage David Arquette.
