WATCH: Everyday People Reveal Their Weight-loss Secrets

With January 1st just around the corner and New Year's resolutions on the horizon, People magazine is coming out with the Half Their Size issue, and folks are disclosing their slim-down secrets.

"I started as a size 28, and now actually I'm a size 3, size 4," 34-year-old Josephine Reed reveals proudly. Once 270 lbs., Josephine has lost 156 lbs., weighing in at 114 lbs.

And she's not the only one! "Our five main candidates lost a total of 822 lbs.," Michelle Tan, People magazine staff editor, gushes. "Every year for Half Their Size, we feature real people who lose weight by diet and exercise. … There's no surgery, no pills, it's all through dedication to exercise and diet."

People magazine hits newsstands Dec. 30 and not only features everyday people's weight loss stories but also celebrity slim-downs including Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Osbourne and Drew Carey.
