Ted Williams' homeless to Hollywood media whirlwind tour has finally come to a close as the man with the golden voice has decided to get the help he needs at a rehab facility. ET cameras rolled as Williams gave his emotional good-byes to the friends he made while in California.
"I want to say that the Entertainment Tonight family has made me feel so much a part of their own family that I'm kind of sad about leaving," he said during his tearful farewell. Williams hugged and cried with ET supervising producers Amy Purnell and Jeffrey Wilson as they encouraged and supported him in his choice to get treatment. He said, choking up, "I'm looking forward to going but I don't want to leave you guys."
Ted will be making a short trip to Ohio to see his family before heading to Origins Recovery Center in South Padre Island, Texas, the facility that was recommended to him by Dr. Phil. "I'm getting a good start. Dr. Phil, best man in the world, and who else wouldn't take advice from Dr. Phil. I'm not through yet. I'm on my way to treatment," he told ET.
Williams added, "Hey America, I'm going to get well. All I ask is that you don't forget me, please."
