George Clooney contracted Malaria while in the Sudan during the first week of January.

Thankfully, the actor's rep tells ET that the Oscar winner is "completely over" the infection.

Ever the humanitarian, George took the opportunity to remark on how impoverished nations need access to basic medical care, saying, "This illustrates how with proper medication, the most lethal condition in Africa, can be reduced to a bad 10 days instead of a death sentence."

Malaria is preventable and treatable disease that was eradicated in the U.S. in 1951. To help end the disease worldwide, visit MalariaNoMore.org.
