George Clooney in No Rush to Marry - Says He Already 'Gave It a Shot'

Even though George Clooney has been dating gorgeous Italian model-actress Elisabetta Canalis since 2009 --- prompting some to speculate on whether he was ready to tie the knot -- the 48-year-old bachelor told CNN's Piers Morgan he's been there and done that.
During an appearance with his father Nick Clooney on "Piers Morgan Tonight" on Friday, George was asked by his father to reflect on his parents' longtime marriage. "I want you to think about that. I want you to think about -- we've been married -- Nina and I've been married 51 years," Nick told George.
"I hate to blow your whole news story," said the actor, "but I was married, so I gave it a shot." George Clooney was married for several years to actress Talia Balsam, but they split up in 1993. "Yeah, so I've proven how good I was at it, and I just. ... I'm allowed one."
Also during the interview, Clooney talked about his humanitarian work in Sudan and elsewhere. He said he was lucky enough to get his big break on the TV show "ER" that propelled him to stardom. But he told Morgan that his father had always urged him "to help look out for people that are less fortunate than you and to challenge people that are in power."
