Bristol Palin has confirmed that she plans to follow in her mother's footsteps by running for political office.
The 20-year-old daughter of Republican political figure Sarah Palin told E! News that she will "probably" run for office in the future.
The former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant tells the cable network in an interview that while she does see politics in her future, she admits it will likely be "further down the road."
Bristol has always been a strong supporter of her mother, the former Alaska governor who gained a national political platform in 2008 when she was picked by John McCain to be his running mate in the presidential election.
Last year, Levi Johnston -- Bristol's ex and the father of their son Tripp -- told ET that he was interested in running for mayor of Wasilla, AK -- a position once held by Sarah Palin.
