ET has an up-to-the-minute report on Dame Elizabeth Taylor's health.
A rep for the film icon tells ET Taylor has been "comfortable over the past few days" and that there's been a "steady improvement in her condition" since she was admitted to the hospital last week with congestive heart failure, which is an ongoing condition the actress suffers from.
The rep says, "Since being admitted there has been steady improvement in her condition, and over the weekend she has had visits from family and close friends. Her medical team is gratified by her progress to date, and it is hoped and expected that this will continue over the next few days. For now, she will remain under their care in the hospital for continued monitoring."
In closing, the rep tells ET, "Friends and fans around the world should be reassured that Elizabeth Taylor is in good hands and receiving the best possible care from her skilled and dedicated doctors and nurses."
The actress underwent heart surgery to repair a "leaky valve" back in 2009, and tweeted after that procedure, "Dear Friends, My heart procedure went off perfectly. It's like having a brand new ticker. Thank you for your prayers and good wishes."
