David Arquette recently taped an interview with Oprah Winfrey airing Thursday, and on Wednesday Arquette gave a preview of his Oprah chat at the Art of Elysium Pieces of Heaven art auction, speaking only to ET.
"There's some terrible articles out there but I'd like to say I'm very sober," said Arquette, not wanting to give too much away. "I've been sober since the 30th of December and I intend to remain sober."
Arquette completed a program at a rehab facility at the end of January after about a month of treatment.
The actor seemed in high spirits at the auction in Los Angeles, presented by Vanity Fair and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
"I wish I could afford everything up there," said "Modern Family"'s Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who admitted that his business manager has advised him to be frugal during tax season.
The event, hosted by Scarlett Johansson, is a charity meant to benefit hospitalized children.
Anna Kendrick disclosed that when she attended the Pieces of Heaven auction last year, she didn't get to enjoy it as much because of the stress that came with her Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for her role in 'Up in the Air.'
"I'm really glad that I get to spend a little more time here tonight and really enjoy it," Kendrick said.
The actress revealed that she will not be attending the Academy Awards this Sunday, saying, "I couldn't really handle it. It was enough last year being a nominee." Kendrick instead will be watching the ceremony on TV with friends.
