Jennifer Hudson's Baby Makes Red Carpet Debut

Jennifer Hudson not only looked stunning on the red carpet at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon yesterday, she also delighted photographers by bringing along her six-month-old son David Daniel as her date!
ET's Kevin Frazier was on the carpet with the Grammy and Academy Award winner, who says her young son didn't seem shy at all around all the people and flashing lights: "He loves it. He's my date tonight!"
Kevin also asked Jennifer about all the attention she's been getting since slimming down and losing the baby weight. "I remember when I first started it, I was like 'Yeah, okay I'll do it' -- and I didn't even think twice about it. So the response has been unbelievable," Jennifer said.
Also on the red carpet was Loretta Devine, who revealed a fun part she'll play on an upcoming episode of "Glee." "Well, I'm playing one of the judges at the regional contest they are having. I play a nun who is an ex stripper." The "Grey's Anatomy" actress says she had a ball doing "Glee" and was uplifted by all the incredible dancing from the young cast.
Jennifer and Loretta were formally honored along with Angela Bassett and Viola Davis at the event, which singles out African-American women whose work in Hollywood has inspired positive images of Black women around the world. The Essence magazine luncheon always happens the week before the Academy Awards, which take place this Sunday in Hollywood.
