After David Arquette's candid interview with Oprah Winfrey that aired Thursday, the actor's sister Patricia got candid with ET at The Hollywood Reporter's Nominees' Night on Thursday evening.

"[David's] amazing," Patricia reassured. "He's always been an amazing person and I think this has been an amazing experience for him."

David told Oprah that this is the first time he's been sober in 30 years, disclosing that he started seriously drinking at age 12, and that he's really working on "figuring out" his own path.

"It's funny how we go through life with blinders on certain areas and we don't notice the things that we need to work on with ourselves," Patricia told ET. "And it's a great blessing when you have that gift. It's such a gift from God when you have that awakening and you're aware of something that you want to change."

The Hollywood Reporter's Nominees' Night is an event honoring the 10 Academy Award nominees for Best Picture but guest Piers Morgan raved about an event he felt was even more important than the award show airing this Sunday on ABC - Prince William and Kate Middleton's royal "I do's".

"It's bigger than the Oscars isn't it? Why wouldn't you all stay up?" said Piers of the wedding that will air live at 3 a.m. PST on April 29. "[It's the] biggest event of the century."
