Beverly Hills police tell ET that drugs and alcohol were not a factor in David Arquette's Friday car accident.
A BHPD spokesperson says, "No alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash whatsoever. It appears that the accident will be Mr. Arquette's fault for driving on the wrong side of the roadway. Our traffic investigators are still investigating. No criminal charges [will be filed]."
Arquette was taken to a hospital in stable condition Friday afternoon following what was reportedly a head-on collision that left both vehicles involved badly damaged. Following the accident, one website posted photos showing Arquette lying on the ground with his eyes closed.
Arquette tweeted Friday night, "I was on my way to catch a plane to Vegas to help my buddy Stevie D open his restaurant, The Sugar Factory." He continued, "So sad I'm going to miss it, but glad to be alive for a rain check. Refused all pain medication -- may the record state -- still sober!"
On Friday the actor tweeted, "I got into a car accident but I'm fine. Luckily I have dragon's blood running through my veins. Haha. Thank you for all your concern." Last week Charlie Sheen was quoted as saying "My fangs are dripping tiger blood," following the removal of his twin sons from his house by authorities after his ex Brooke Mueller obtained a restraining order against Sheen.
In another tweet, the star spoke about the other person involved in the accident: "It was a miracle the woman I hit was uninjured- Thank God!" And he also gave advice to other drivers in another post: "Remember to wear your seatbelt-wish I was."
