How Rod Stewart Stays 'Forever Young'

By

ET recently caught up with legendary rock icon Rod Stewart to talk about his two-year Caesars Palace Las Vegas residency, which is set to begin August 24. The 66-year-old revealed how he stays in tip top shape in order to continuously perform his state of the art concert "Rod Stewart: The Hits", which turns out to be a combination of good old fashion exercise and being around his eight children.

"I work at it. I work in the gym four or five times a week, which I've done for 12 or 13 years now," Stewart says. "I still play football…and [being] surrounded by all my children I'm sure has something to do with it," he quips.

No doubt use to sell-out crowds and performing in every type of arena there is, Stewart shared how much he appreciated the intimacy of his Las Vegas concert venue, The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

"After playing huge arenas all my life it's a welcome relief to actually get a great sound, and everybody's within 120 feet of the stage," Stewart says. "It's a luxury, that's the only way I could put it, playing in Vegas."

He also talks about the heart and soul of his show, which he calls pure “hard nose rock ‘n’ roll.”

When asked if there will be any showgirls at his show, this being Vegas, he laughs, "No, no this is a rock 'n' roll show, so it's just hard nose rock 'n' roll. So no dancers, just me, and my humble dance moves…which I make up as I go along," he smiles.
