Wrestling legend "Macho Man" Randy Savage died Friday morning after reportedly suffering a heart attack behind the wheel of his vehicle and colliding with a tree in Tampa, Florida. He was 58.

According to multiple reports, Savage was driving his Jeep Wrangler with his new wife Lynn when he veered across a concrete median through oncoming traffic and hit a tree. He was transported to Largo Medical center, where he died from his injuries. Lynn survived with reported minor injuries.

The colorful, raspy-voiced Savage, born Randall Mario Poffo, was a hugely popular World Wrestling Federation (now known as WWE) fixture with his "Oooooh yeah!" catchphrase, having multiple professional wrestling championships and seven world championship belts to his credit. He was also an actor (with a cameo appearance in 'Spider-Man') and well known as a pitch man for Slim Jim, exploding into various commercials dressed in his trademark flashy cowboy hat, yellow sunglasses and animal-print regalia, proclaiming, "You want excitement? Snap into a Slim Jim!"

The WWE tells ET in a statement, "WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of one of the greatest Superstars of his time, Randy Poffo, aka Randy "Macho Man" Savage. Poffo was under contract with WWE from 1985 to 1993 and held both the WWE and Intercontinental Championships. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends. We wish a speedy recovery to his wife Lynn. Poffo will be greatly missed by WWE and his fans."
