George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis Split

ET confirms that George Clooney, 50, and longtime girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis, 32, have split.

"We are not together anymore," the couple says in a joint statement. "It's very difficult and very personal and we hope everyone can respect our privacy."

The stunning ex couple, who were photographed together last week near his home in Italy, began dating in July 2009.
