Selena Gomez on 'Monte Carlo': 'It's a Really Big Step'

Teen queen Selena Gomez stars in 'Monte Carlo' alongside Katie Cassidy and Leighton Meester, and at last night's New York City premiere, the young star dished on what it was like working so closely with the girls, and also taking the next step in her charmed Disney career.

"The whole experience of 'Monte Carlo' was so much fun," Selena says. "I haven't done a lot of film work, so for me this was a really big step for me and I worked really hard."

She also emphasized how close she got to both Katie and Leighton, who star as her two best friends in the film.

"I got to work on the entire film with Leighton and Katie. I could not have been luckier, they were amazing," she gushes.

Katie, the daughter of '70s heartthrob David Cassidy, reiterated the sentiment.

"We were like young little girls, I felt like I was in high school again and it was really sweet," Katie says. "We spent a lot of time together off set as well. I just really think it was a good experience for all of us."
