Katie Holmes Dishes on Tom's Look in 'Rock of Ages': He Looks Amazing

We sat down with Katie Holmes to talk about her new movie 'Don't Be Afraid of the Dark,' motherhood and hubby Tom's new rockin' look.

The first official photo of Tom Cruise playing rocker Stacee Jaxx in the upcoming musical 'Rock of Ages' was recently released showing him shirtless while rocking long hair and Katie thinks "he looks amazing and I am so excited. He is having a great time playing this character."

Jumping from beats to scares, Katie leads the cast of 'Don't Be Afraid of the Dark,' a remake of the 1973 scarer about a family moving into a new home and the small creatures that already inhabit it. Katie openly admits that she is a "fan of horror movies," saying that, "what I loved about this movie is that it's classic horror."

Playing a stepmother to a young daughter in this film, Katie was able to relate to her character and that need to protect her child, being the mother of 5 year-old Suri, finding a "primal, motherly sense of duty and of course you would do anything for your child. You definitely understand that when you are a mom."

Check out 'Don't Be Afraid of the Dark' when it opens in theaters August 26.
