Canada Showers William & Kate with Flowers

The new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were warmly welcomed by Canadians on their first day touring the country, being lavished with hearty approbation and delicate flowers.
William took the podium outside of Rideau Hall in Ottawa on Thursday, accompanied by the Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Governor General David Johnston, to express his appreciation to the crowd that gathered to receive the royal couple.
"Catherine and I are so delighted to be here in Canada," Prince William remarked as Kate Middleton looked on. "Before we were married we had a longing to come here together."
The Duke deviated from his first language, giving part of his speech in French, which he joked would "improve as we go on."
According to the Associated Press, William and Kate's tour of Canada will last for nine days. The couple's next big trip will be coming to Los Angeles on July 8, where they will introduce new British film stars to Hollywood deal-makers during a dinner gala.
