Will and Kate Receive Royal Treatment At Cocktail Reception

Prince William and Kate Middleton were officially welcomed to California on Friday at a cocktail reception at the United Kingdom's Consul-General's residence in the Hancock Park section of Los Angeles.

After being introduced to the guests, the royal couple moved through the crowd and stopped to chat with people.

At one point, Prince William was spotted chatting with soccer superstar David Beckham. Also in attendance were California Governor Jerry Brown, Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and "So You Think You Can Dance" judge Nigel Lythgoe.
