Redmond O'Neal Arrested for Heroin Possession

Redmond O'Neal, the troubled 26-year-old son of Ryan O'Neal and Farrah Fawcett, was arrested in Santa Monica today for possession of heroin.

According to the Santa Monica Police Department report, O'Neal was pulled over after he ran a red light, was searched by officers upon his consent, and was found to have heroin in his vehicle. He was arrested at the scene for narcotics possession.

Because he is already on felony probation, he is not eligible for bail. He was booked at 11:25 this morning and is due in court on Thursday.

Redmond O'Neal has publicly struggled with a heroin addiction, and has been in and out of jail and rehab for years on substance abuse related issues. At the time of Farrah's death, Redmond was temporarily released from jail so he could attend her funeral, then moved into a drug rehab program.
