Chaz Bono's Emotional Surprise Phone Call

By

Cher recently surprised Chaz Bono on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, when the music legend called in to support her child, who's been the center of controversy ever since it was announced he would be a contestant on season 13's Dancing with the Stars.

Cher admitted to feeling fearful at first of Chaz's decision to be part of the hit show, but is now proud of the way the 42-year-old transgender individual has conducted himself.

"Chaz and I actually talked about this several times over the years and then nothing happened. And in one way I thought, 'Oh God, this is going to be so terrible. He is going to have to go through so much,'" Cher said, getting emotional. "But the way he's handled himself ... you know, my child is a wonderful child."

But Cher got her claws out when she addressed those threatening to boycott the show due to Chaz's involvement.

"If you've got that excess time and that amount of hostility, I'm not so sure that I can say anything to you that would make you change your feelings. Because, you know, those are such feelings of hostility and fear that I don't know that I would have any magic words to make you feel more comfortable and to soothe you into not being terrified of my child dancing on 'Dancing With The F***ing Stars,'" she said as the audience applauded.
