Giuliana Rancic Announces She Has Breast Cancer

Television personality and reality star Giuliana Rancic announced on air Monday that she has breast cancer.

The 36-year-old E! News and Style Network host made the shocking announcement during an interview with Ann Curry on NBC's Today show.

"Through my attempt to get pregnant for the third time through IVF [in-vitro fertilization], we sadly found out that I have early stages of breast cancer," she said, visibly shaken.

She further revealed that she will undergo surgery this week and six weeks of radiation therapy. But because she found it early, the prognosis is good.

Through it all, she has the support of her husband Bill Rancic, the first winner of The Apprentice.

"Bill is unbelievable," Rancic said. "The best part about Bill is that he lets me cry when I want to cry ... he just lets me feel what I'm feeling."

She also stressed that despite the setback, and her very public struggles to get pregnant, she is still pushing for a baby with Bill.

"I'm not gonna give up. I want that baby," she said. "And what's amazing is that that baby will have saved my life because I always said that this all happened to me ... there was some master plan why my IVF's didn't work, why I never got pregnant ... and now I truly believe that God was looking out for me. Because had I got pregnant, a few years down the line I could be a lot sicker. ... Because I found it early, I'm going to be OK."
