Lindsay Lohan's father Michael was arrested early Tuesday in Florida on suspicion of domestic violence.

Police in Tampa received a call from the apartment of Lohan's on-and-off girlfriend over the past few years, Kate Major, 28, who could be heard yelling "stop" and "leave me alone" when officers arrived.

According to the police report obtained by ET, Major told police that Lohan grabbed and squeezed her arms and knocked her to the floor and police observed "minor bruising" on her arm and knee. Major did not seek medical treatment.

She told officers that Lohan became violent after an argument over a restraining order stemming from a previous domestic violence case and after he complained that she wouldn't perform oral sex, the report states. She also claimed Lohan told her he "would slit both his wrist and her wrist" and "threatened to throw her off the (4th floor) balcony."

After being arrested, 51-year-old Lohan complained of chest pains and was taken to a hospital in Tampa. Police say he was released a short time later and taken to jail and was being held without bail. The police report indicates Lohan denied putting his hands on Kate, but said he did break her mobile phone during an argument.

The arrest comes ahead of a hearing for Lindsay Lohan on November 2, when she'll face the judge who recently revoked her probation because she repeatedly failed to perform ordered community service hours.
