Andy Rooney in Serious Condition Following Surgery

Andy Rooney has been hospitalized after suffering serious complications from a minor surgery he underwent last week.

CBS tells ET that the veteran 60 Minutes essayist, 92, is in stable condition, but no further details were released at the family's request.

After appearing on 60 Minutes since 1978, Rooney gave what was to be his final regular essay just three weeks ago.
