While much has been speculated about the private life of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong in recent months, her highly-anticipated memoir, Hiding from Reality: My story of love, Loss, and Finding the Courage Within promises to address the untold suffering she hid during her marriage to the late Russell Armstrong as well as the childhood abuse she feels led her on the path to the dangerous union.
In an exclusive statement to ET, Taylor reveals the memoir will not only tell her story, but hopefully encourage others to uncover their own inner-strength:
"The outpouring from my fans with their own stories of domestic abuse shows me the true depth and widespread incidence of this terrible problem. I know my book will help these and so many other battered women, and men, to find their own courage within, as they struggle with their violent and abusive relationships."
Armstrong unveiled the book's cover during a special appearance on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live last night, tearfully discussing her motivations for the memoir. "I'm hoping that for someone this might help break the cycle," explained Taylor. "I wanted people to see me for who I really am and to understand that this started at a very young age for me. I ended up in this situation because of my own flaws and my own insecurities and not because someone did this to me."
Hiding from Reality: My Story of Love, Loss, and Finding the Courage Within will be available for purchase on February 7, 2012.
