George Clooney Gives Up Drinking

At a time where excess seems to be all the rage, George Clooney revealed to Nancy O'Dell that he's decided to dial it back a bit.

On the red carpet of the 84th Academy Awards on Sunday, the Oscar winner said that he hasn't had a drink since New Year's Eve! Not an easy task during Hollywood's award season, especially when you're one of Tinseltown's leading men.

"I think it's a good thing to do once in a while [to] make sure you can," said George, who admitted that he feels better since giving up the bottle. "It's funny [when] you don't have a hangover. It's nice."

Although nominated for both The Descendants and The Ides of March, George predicted an "all-French" night, indicating that he expected The Artist to clean up.

"Jean [Dujardin] gave a really wonderful performance," said George.
