Arrest Warrant Issued for Russell Brand

ET has confirmed that an arrest warrant for simple criminal damage to property was issued for Russell Brand by the New Orleans Police Department in relation to an alleged incident with a paparazzo.

According to a TMZ report, Brand purportedly snatched a paparazzo's cell phone from his car when the man began to film him and threw the phone through the window of a nearby building on Monday night.

Brand has yet to make an official statement regarding the incident but made reference to it in a comedic tone on Twitter, writing, "Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iphone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory."
