Prince William has returned to Britain after a seven-week military deployment to the Falkland Islands.
Palace officials said William -- a Royal Air Force search and rescue helicopter pilot -- arrived in the U.K. on Wednesday morning and was expected to meet up with Kate and other family members at Kensington Palace.
A palace spokesman was quoted as saying that William and Kate would take the next few days off to spend private time together.
On Monday, Kate marked a royal milestone by giving her first official speech as the Duchess of Cambridge. She spoke at the opening of The Treehouse children's hospice in Ipswich, England, and also met with children receiving care at the hospice and planted a tree.
