Scotland Yard confirms to ET that Zaloumis, 29, was charged with one count of aggravated burglary today and will appear in custody at West London Magistrate Court on Monday. A spokesperson for Cowell gave this statement to ET: "This matter is with police and we are not commenting further."

According to the Mirror, the alleged female intruder used a brick to enter the home through a bathroom window while Cowell watched TV in his living room at around 10:30 p.m. local time. The news source continues to report that Cowell and a member of his security staff eventually confronted the alleged intruder in the music mogul's bedroom.

The incident is especially surprising as in 2007, Cowell revealed the extent to which he had secured his household, telling the Mirror, "I've spent hundreds of thousands of pounds on the very best security and I can assure you my homes are as safe as the Bank of England."

The Mirror reports that Cowell, 52, was "pretty shaken up" following the alleged incident.
