Carly Rae Makes U.S. TV Debut with Bieber
While Carly Rae had a strong Canadian following, her first big exposure to the U.S. was in a tweet posted by Bieber after hearing her single Call Me Maybe while on vacation in Canada.
Carly called the song "a bit of an experiment," as she hadn't "embraced pop in such a big way before." The test clearly faired well.
"This experience so far is renewing hope in me that dreams come true. I feel so blessed to be a part of the Schoolboy/Interscope family," says Carly.
Carly is the first female artist to be signed to Schoolboy Records, which is run by Braun and Bieber.
"Justin and I have always talked about finding different artists and using his platform to kind of pay it forward," says Braun.
