Bobby Brown Booked & Released on DUI Charges

Bobby Brown was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Los Angeles Monday afternoon, ET can confirm.

Whitney Houston's ex was taken into police custody at 12:20pm on Monday afternoon after being pulled over in the San Fernando Valley for talking on a cell phone. Brown was later taken to a Van Nuys jail for booking following suspicion of driving under the influence. He has since been released on $5,000 bail.

An official report released by the California Highway Patrol details that the arresting officer observed symptoms of intoxication in Brown at which point Bobby was given multiple tests for sobriety, all of which he failed.

"Mr. Brown was observed traveling westbound on Victory Boulevard just east of Yolanda Avenue in moderate traffic when CHP observed the driver talking on his cell phone," reads the report. "CHP initiated an enforcement stop and contacted the driver, later identified as Robert Brown from Encino. Mr. Brown displayed objective symptoms of intoxication and was asked to submit to a series of field sobriety tests that has was unable to perform as explained/demonstrated. At 12:20 hrs, Mr. Brown was arrested without incident for 23152(a)(b)VC. He was transported to LAPD Van Nuys Jail and booked into custody."

This isn't the first time Brown has been arrested for DUI. In 1996, Bobby was arrested and later pled guilty to a charge in Georgia.
