Former Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb has undergone more surgery for an ongoing illness.

A publicist said Wednesday the 62-year-old singer is recovering in a British hospital after having intestinal surgery over the weekend.

Gibb was hospitalized late last year for stomach and colon problems, but told the BBC early last month that he had made a "spectacular" recovery and was putting on weight after a serious illness during which a growth on his colon had to be removed. The singer also told a British newspaper he was "beating cancer."

Earlier this month Gibb wrote on his personal blog that he was looking forward to returning to the stage April 10 in London to perform his Titanic Requiem -- a tribute to victims of the Titanic disaster.
