Maggie Gyllenhaal has revealed that she and her actor husband Peter Sarsgaard are expecting a daughter in late spring. 

"I'm so pregnant," the Dark Knight star tells USA Today. Speaking at an event promoting her May release Hysteria, the 34-year-old actress added: "This is a great, loose, black outfit -- I had to take my shoes off."

The star admits it's very difficult to hide a pregnancy in Hollywood. "I find it difficult to pretend you're not pregnant, which I had to do. I didn’t let anyone know until three and a half months this time. I went to film festivals. I'm throwing up in the bathroom and having to keep pretzels in my purse, and having to fit into dresses."

Gyllenhaal says even though the secret is now out, she doesn't plan on revealing many more details for the moment. She has been married to Sarsgaard since 2009 and the couple already has a five-year-old daughter, Ramona.
