Watch: Nick Cannon Documents His Health Scares

Nick Cannon is providing an up-close look at his kidney failure diagnosis and his subsequent recovery in a documentary-style video series on his website. 

The weekly Web series -- called "Ncredible Health Hustle" will continue to follow Cannon's medical recovery from his kidney problems, which first developed while he was on Christmas vacation last year with his wife Mariah Carey and their twins in Aspen, CO.

"A few days ago, I was with my family in the snow, playing, having a good time," Cannon says in narration as he recalls the beginning of his kidney issues. "All of a sudden, I started swelling up, having shortness of breath, excruciating pain in my right side. I wake up in the hospital, a bunch of doctors telling me I've got kidney failure."

Nothing is spared from the cameras as the America's Got Talent host documents the most dramatic moments of his hospitalizations, as well as the difficult decision to step down from his daily New York radio morning show and his meetings with medical, health, diet and fitness experts to help battle his disease.

"Kidney disease and Lupus are serious ailments but, as you'll see through these videos in the coming weeks, it is possible to put the reins on it a bit and gain control of your health and wellness," Cannon writes in a message on his website. "I thank all of you for the continuous messages, and want you to know it inspires me to keep pushing. Hoping this series serves as inspiration for anyone dealing with kidney disease, lupus or ANY ILLNESS to keep pushing as well."
