After a very public battle with fertility, Giuliana & Bill Rancic announced this morning that they're expecting a baby!

"We are so thrilled that our prayers have been answered," she tells E! exclusively. Bill adds, "We are absolutely ecstatic to be sharing this with everyone who has been following our journey."

The baby, due this summer, will be born via a gestational surrogate, which means the baby will share Bill and Giuliana's DNA.

Late last year, Giuliana spoke out about her struggles to conceive as well as undergoing a double mastectomy in order to treat breast cancer. "I feel great," she said in December. "I've got to be honest. I feel great considering it has only been about two-and-a-half weeks. But I still have a ways to go as far as the recovery."

Now, she is feeling excellent and optimistic about the sunny future. "We received an incredible amount of love and prayers from viewers around the world," Giuliana says, "and we want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them for their love." To that end, Giuliana and Bill plan to document this journey as well on their reality show -- which will also feature a vow renewal, slated to take place just before their child arrives this summer.
