Seen here slipping effortlessly into the paternal role, the 29-year-old Duke of Cambridge was snapped cradling the infant of a young serviceman at a reception in London celebrating the Scott-Amundsen Centenary Race to the South Pole.

Vic and Hanna Vicary, parents to the three-week-old, were said to be more than pleased to give William a bit of fatherly practice with their little one.
