Spotlight on Surprise Celeb Splits

Divorces have sadly become commonplace in Hollywood. ET's Nancy O'Dell has a list of recent splits heard around the world.

Some women indulge in ice cream and chocolate to mourn a break-up. Jennie Garth relies on the "unconditional love" of her farm animals, as documented on the premiere of CMT's Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country this week. In a candid interview with People, she said, "I was very resistant. I didn't want it to happen. It took me some time to come to peace with it." While co-hosting an episode of Live with Kelly, her ex Peter Facinelli acknowledged that the split has been "painful."

The one-time flirtatious duo of Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are dunzo. Demi released a statement reading, "As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life." Ashton responded via Twitter, saying, "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail."

Jennifer Lopez spoke to ET less than one year ago, not revealing an ounce of discord in her household. Gushing, she said she was "fortunate" to have Marc Anthony in her life. She continued, "I respect him and I trust him to have my best interests at heart." What a difference a few months can make. While J.Lo and Marc have each pursued new relationships, the pair appeared quite cordial on Q’Viva: The Chosen.

After saying "I do" on each anniversary, Heidi Klum and Seal have now said "I don't." They released a joint statement, announcing, "While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate." Seal soon revealed intimate details to us, saying, "To say neither of us aren't grieving would be a complete lie because we do love each other very much, but the reality of the situation is what it is. You grow apart."

New Girl's Zooey Deschanel is out with the old after kicking husband Ben Gibbard to the curb, filing for divorce on December 27. Meanwhile, Kaley Cuoco had second thoughts about marriage before tying the knot. She broke the news to ET in March that "I'm not engaged anymore."
