The Avengers hits theaters tomorrow and the highly anticipated adventure flick has star Robert Downey Jr. traveling all around the world to promote the film, but that doesn't stop the new dad from spending some quality time with his three-month-old son Exton, who Downey describes as being both a "great" and "bad" date, all rolled into one.
On a visit to the Ellen DeGeneres Show which airs Friday, May 4th, the proud papa couldn't help but spill the adorable details of his new bundle of joy who he says has already begun to tackle the English language.
"He's smiling and talking a little bit. It's incredible," Downey gushes. "I go, 'What are we doing? What's happening?' He goes '(Downey makes gibberish noise)' and 'I go, really?' Kind of like a bad date with somebody who is really small."
When told by Ellen that his "bad date" doesn't sound so fun, Downey replies that he loves every minute of it.
"It's great," he laughs. "In this instance it is a great date."
Robert Downey Jr. and wife Susan welcomed Exton to their family on February 7, 2012. He is the couple's first child and Robert's second son, joining big brother Indio, 18, from a previous marriage.
Watch Ellen Friday May 4 for the full interview also featuring RDJ's Avengers co-star Scarlett Johansson.
